I recently spoke with a customer of mine who had a problem. His laundry room already operates at the maximum capacity, and he just got news that he was going to have to 3 sheet every bed. That will add 33% more sheet laundry (historically they 2 sheeted). Well, that is a problem. He cannot expand his laundry service room because of space constraints. To be frank, he just does not have the money to do a complete remodel.
So what do you do? New equipment is a possibility, but money is tight — especially for small hotels. He was looking for a cheap and easy solution.
I am afraid, I don’t have anything cheap or easy. His laundry room was going to the max all day long and now he was going to have much more laundry. In reality, he needs about twice the capacity he has to keep up with his demand now!
Understanding that his finances are tight, I decided to take a conservative approach. Let’s see what happens first. If it really does not add as much stress on his situation as he thinks it might, than we are made in the shade. If it completely sinks him in dirty laundry, than maybe we can get some creative financing. Regardless, he is doing the right thing by planning and studying.
Do you have any ideas?
